Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Guest Services Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • To consistently maintain and update the ski/boot storage area
  • To ensure all equipment match to the guest’s identification number/pass
  • To assist the guest services staff with the transportation of skis to and from ski storage
  • To correctly store all ski boots and ensure that the warmers are in good working order
  • To know and understand the duties of other positions within the guest services department if assistance is required
  • To have a complete understanding of the fire evacuation and lost and found procedures
  • To ensure the whole ski valet area is clean and tidy at all times (storage area, equipment, hallway in the immediate vicinity and entrance of area)
  • To be always neatly groomed and in full uniform when on duty
  • To promote and enforce health and safety awareness as well as to have a complete understanding of the fire evacuation and lost and found procedures
  • Actively participate in the Chateau Whistler’s environmental program Planet 21 and department specific initiatives in working towards sustainable operations
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be sincerely friendly, personable and approachable
  • Must be empathetic to guest needs and concerns
  • Guest Service experience is an asset
  • A secondary language is an asset
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Must be a team oriented person
  • Must be flexible and ready to work a variety of shifts
  • Must be energetic and enthusiastic
  • A degree/diploma in Hospitality Management is an asset

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

  • Constant standing, walking, bending, kneeling and lifting throughout shift
  • Frequent lifting of 45 lbs or more

Visa Requirements:

Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
