This role will function primarily as a Hotel Bellman with additional duties supporting the Sunshine Mountain Lodge with ongoing maintenance duties as required.
Essential Functions:
- Perform general maintenance duties such as; repairing drywall, painting, touch-ups, assembling shelving units
- Solve small plumbing issues such as clogged drains and gas fireplace lighting
- Assist with snow clearing/removal from roofs and walkways
- Provide excellent guest service
- Receive and deliver luggage/other items to and from hotel rooms; Coordinate with the front
desk and warehouse to ensure flow is smooth and within guaranteed times
- Store and retrieve guest equipment from ski storage
- Answer guest inquiries regarding the area, resort and hotel services and facilities
- Maintain public areas of the hotel including the ski storage area
- Participate in the operation of hotel guest activities as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Experience/Requirements:
- Previous experience in a trade such as plumbing or carpentry is beneficial
- Previous guest service experience
- Previous experience painting is a required
- Ability to complete manual labour, heavy lifting, and willingness to work in all weather conditions
- Previous hotel experience an asset
- Fluent English proficiency required
- Exceptional interpersonal skills; reliable, a team player with ability to use own initiative
- Physically fit and able to lift/carry guest luggage 30-50lbs
- (Abstract cannot be any older than 30 days from employment start date). Must be able to complete training and testing for on-hill tracked vehicle and snowmobile licenses
