Grand Hotel- Housekeeping Attendant

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • Knowledge of the responsibilities of and working in housekeeping department is an asset but not required
  • Reliable and responsible person with team-based ethics
  • Physical ability to bend, crouch, lift and be in motion for the majority of the shift
  • Previous customer service experience is an asset
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi task
  • Enjoys rewarding work with the opportunity to finish what you start and see the task completed to end
  • Is or has interest in working towards a career in the Hospitality / Tourism industry

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES CAN INCLUDE:

Our Housekeeping team performs many tasks at the Sun Peaks Grand and the Residences at Sun Peaks, and diversity in task performance is often required to see final task execution completed in a timely and organized way. As such, we often ask that our housekeeping team members be well versed in all position tasks that exist within the department.

Room Specific Operations:

  • Executes stay over and departure cleaning of the Hotel and Residences rooms / suites to the minimum cleaning Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of 85% execution accordingly, and keeps within established credit timelines as set forth by the housekeeping and hotel leadership team
  • Ensures at all times the security of guest rooms and privacy of guests by strictly following the hotel standard operating guidelines
  • Performs deep cleaning rotational cleaning duties as scheduled, adhering to the Hotel and Residences rooms and suites minimum cleaning Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of 85% execution accordingly, and keeps within established credit timelines as set forth by the housekeeping and hotel leadership team
  • Monitors and cleans the hotel public areas (Corridors, Washrooms, Lobbies, Stairwells, Health Club & Fitness area etc.)
  • Within these spaces, ensures all surfaces are clean (including floors, walls, windows, ceilings)
  • Cleans all surfaces of the upper and lower hotel back of house space hallways
  • Removes refuse in public areas including the perimeter of the hotel and the Residences
  • Cleans administrative areas including removal of waste, recycling and vacuuming
  • Stocks and sorts the supply in all housekeeping closets and carts
  • Collects and sorts soiled linen in prescribed timelines for the laundry service to pick up
  • Collects garbage and recycling from all Hotel and Residence linen closets placing into correct compactors and bins
  • Delivers required resources to team members
  • Delivers, services and retrieves all guest requested hotel resources; such as playpens, humidifiers, etc.
  • Ensures at all times the security of guest rooms and privacy of guests by strictly following the hotel standard operating guidelines
  • Performs deep cleaning rotational cleaning duties aligned with schedule, at all times adhering to Hotel and Residences rooms and suites minimum cleaning Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of 85%

Guest Experience:

  • Acts with professionalism and provides a service standard that elevates the guest experience
  • Acts as an ambassador of the Hotel & Sun Peaks, as prompted by guests for direction and insight on internal and external events
  • Delivers quality service when assisting guests with room amenities, cleaning, and additional hotel standard special requests as it relates to their guestroom stay

Team Commitment / Leadership:

  • Works as a dynamic team member with a focus on collaboration
  • Desires to be part of a team and contributes as such
  • Works closely with the Front Office team to improve communication between departments and deliver on guest requests
  • Assists in emergency situations making prompt decisions in the best interest of the guest and the Hotel
  • Demonstrates initiative to help the Rooms department succeed by the willingness to cross train and assist co-workers in accordance with the business needs and leadership team’s direction
  • Works with integrity and is accountable for performance / completion of daily assigned job tasks
