Concession Attendant

Concession Attendants are responsible for ensuring a positive guest experience in The Woods’ outdoor patio and concession area. Responsibilities include taking orders, making beverages, running food and beverage items to tables, and ensuring the day-to-day maintenance and cleanliness of the outdoor patio and concession areas.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Following BC liquor laws and signing the ID pledge daily, stating that you will ask for two pieces of identification from anyone who looks under 40 before serving alcohol – no exceptions
  • Serving guests at the concession window in a friendly and timely manner
  • Following opening, closing and daily ongoing procedures, ensuring all tasks are completed
  • Clearing and wiping all tables, chairs and floors to maintain a high level of cleanliness
  • Ensuring cutlery/condiment stands and drink fridges are well stocked at all times
  • Checking washroom facilities at regular intervals to maintain clean and fresh facilities
  • Maintaining excellent communication with all other team members to promote a positive team environment
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the floor plans of The Woods (both the outdoor patio and indoor dining room)
  • Performing all side work duties as requested by Managers and/or Chefs
  • Maintaining the outdoor patio (shoveling snow, salting walkways etc.) to ensure the safety of all guests and staff
  • Emptying garbage/recycling bins and maintaining the cleanliness of the garbage/recycling area
  • Notifying Managers/Supervisors of any maintenance issues that need to be addressed
  • Assisting team members as required to promote a positive guest experience

Position requirements/skills:

  • Must have a valid Serving it Right Certificate or equivalent by the first day of employment (dated on or after October 18, 2018)
  • Must have an understanding of Duty of Care as it relates to the responsible service of alcohol
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be organized and punctual, reporting for work on time
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekend and holidays – Concession Attendants may be required to work overtime during busy periods
  • Must have a high standard of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the correct uniform/footwear and name tag while on shift
  • Experience using POS systems
  • Knowledge of SWP, SJP and WHMIS is an asset

Physical demands:

  • Spend significant portion of time spent standing and walking
  • Lift up to 50lbs multiple times a day
  • Work outside in cold conditions
