Welcome to Lake Louise, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the magnificent jewel of Banff National Park. It is consistently acclaimed the most scenic ski area on the planet, and legendary for light, dry, champagne powder, impossibly bright blue skies and an astounding 4,200 acres to explore. If you combine all of this with outstanding training and the most competitive wages in the area, you have found the ultimate job.

Staff Perks

Full-time seasonal employees of the Lake Louise Ski Area (LLSA) are offered affordable, subsidised shared staff accommodation in either company-owned housing or a resort-leased property located in and around the Lake Louise area.

All employees are required to sign a Tenancy Agreement outlining the rules and regulations of LLSA Staff Accommodation and are required to pay a security deposit of $200 upon check-in, with no exceptions.

Staff transportation is provided from all of our accommodations to the resort on a set schedule, and this can take up to 15 minutes to reach Lake Louise Ski Resort from Lake Louise Staff Housing.

When can I start to move into staff housing?

48 hours before your first day of work. The housing office is open seven days a week, and check-in times are between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm. If you are arriving in Lake Louise after 5:30 pm you will need to organize your accommodation for the evening. You must present your criminal record check and picture ID at the time of check-in.

Size of the resort: Employs over 550 staff during the winter season. The area does 60% of its annual income in the Summer as it is way more accessible during the summer months (much safer to drive and the temperature is very pleasant).

Staff Housing: This location comes with shared staff housing with options for couples in another location 15-20mins down the Hwy. Staff housing is in the township of Lake Louise which is roughly 7mins from the resort. There is a staff bus that runs regularly to transport crew to and from. Rooms are generally 2-4 people per room with either single beds or bunk beds. Housing is allocated by Lake Louise, once you have a job contract is when you can put in any requests about who you want to live with.

Lake Louise does not offer much in the way of nightlife at the resort. Lake Louise is a tiny blimp on the map. The township consists of a liquor store, 2 x petrol stations, cafe, pretty small bar, retail store and a small grocery store. There is a staff bar that the staff will frequent, however if you want to be amongst the action - Banff is an hour down the road. You can book a night in Banff for your days off or weekends.

Lake Louise has a range of outdoor and indoor roles. guest services, lift operations (must be able to ski to an intermediate level), retail, food & beverage, rentals, parking, cleaning.

This employer is world renown so it will look great on your resume. For those looking to climb the management ladder, you will need to stick around for back to back seasons. Keep in mind Fairmont Banff Springs is part of the Accor Group who operate various hotels around the world. Should your performance be outstanding you could transfer to an employer in your home country. Those wanting to start a career in hotels…our recommendation is start in Housekeeping. Why? Simply because when you get to be a front desk or hotel manager you will have complete appreciation and understanding of how the back of house operates.

You also have the opportunity to transfer to other Fairmont locations like Whistler, Jasper or Lake Louise.
